5 Day Course
This course is tailored and designed for beginners. Specifically aimed at new trainees in the use and safe operation of a Forklift truck, providing practice in the correct techniques of safe operating a Forklift Reach.

Course Outline
The Forklift Reach Training Course ensures candidates reach the skill level required to safely operate the forklift to RTITB standard.
The course syllabus meets the requirements of RTITB standard for forklift operators.
The candidates knowledge will be examined and tested to acceptable levels demonstrating good common practice, knowledge and technique skills.
Training Methods:
Classroom based PowerPoint Presentation.
Practical demonstrations and applications using the forklift.
Supervised trainee assessment with corrective instruction.
Practical and theory competence test.
All participants undergo an examination conducted by an independent examiner and on successful completion are registered as trained Fork truck drivers.
Additional Information:
Forklift Training should be updated every three years.

  • Operator responsibilities.
  • Operator safety code.
  • Causes/prevention of accidents.
  • Forklift capacity/stability.
  • Hand over & maintenance.

Course Practical Content:

  • Operating Systems
  • Controls, instruments and safety features.
  • Daily inspection and preventive maintenance.
  • Starting, Stopping, Steering, Turning Reversing.
  • Manoeuvring in confined areas.
  • The hydraulic system.
  • Pallet pick and place procedure.
  • Stacking/de-stacking – racking all levels.
  • Battery care and charging procedure.
  • Vehicle loading and unloading procedure.
  • Safe parking.

Certification:
On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an RTITB approved certificate and license.
