Mini Digger CSCS Training Course

1 Day (Experienced Operator) 3 Day (Novice)

Course Objectives:

The aim of our CSCS Mini Digger course is to equip learners with the skills, knowledge & understanding to safely operate a mini digger/excavator.
Who Should Attend?
Those employees who operate a mini digger as part of their normal work duties or those who are responsible or in control of those who operate a Mini Digger.
Training Methods:
Classroom based PowerPoint presentation.
Learners will gain some practical experience operating a Mini Excavator with our highly experienced instructor.
Theory & Practical Assessment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Safe Pass Registration Card or CSR Card.
  • PPE (personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves.
  • Passport Photograph with signature on the back.
  • PPS Number or National Insurance Number.
  • Trainees must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.
  • Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Quarries) Regulations 2008.
  • Employers & Employees legal duties under current Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Pre-use inspection of equipment.
  • Site Safety.
  • Traffic Management.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this training course participants will be able to:

  • Aware of current Health & Safety Legislation as it applies to safe operation of mini diggers/excavators.
  • Able to operate a Mini Digger safely.
  • Aware of the legislation as it applies to quarries.

Certification:
SOLAS CSCS Card & QQI certification will be awarded to those who successfully complete & pass the course.
