1 & 1/2 Day Course
For Those trainers who are already certified as Manual Handling Instructors there is a process called RPL available to upgrade their certification to QQI Level 6.
We offer RPL Preparation Workshop(s) for this purpose. The learner then will attend the assessment day and complete the individual assessments (Examination, Presentation, Manual Handling Demonstration).
Who Should Attend?
Those who are already certified as Manual Handling Instructors to upgrade their certification to QQI Level 6.
Entry Requirements:
Learners should have already completed a Manual Handling Instructor course or the equivalent. In order to be accepted for this process learners must complete an RPL application form. The Course Director will review this and advise on whether the learner is a suitable candidate.
Preparation Day Schedule:
- Review of manual Handling course.
- Manual Handling Risk Assessment.
- Lesson planning.
- Demonstration and practice of correct Manual Handling techniques.
Assessment Day:
- Presentations (15 minutes per person).
- Test 20 questions.
- Assessment of correct Manual Handling techniques.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the requirements, the trainer will be awarded a QQI Level 6 Certificate, this is provided by our training partner in Qualtec.
