Forklift Counterbalance Experienced Training

1-2 Day Course (Depending on number of trainees)
This two-day course is designed for experienced operators who do not hold a certificate. An RTITB certificate is awarded to participants at the end of the course provided they achieve the required standard in the theoretical and practical tests.

Course Pre-requisites:

Operators must have at least one years recent experience operating a lift truck and/or hold a Forklift Operators Certificate which has expired.

Who should Attend?

Experienced operators who are familiar with the steering characteristics of the lift truck and have the ability to manoeuvre both forward and reverse in a confined area. They should be also be experienced in load handling functions.

Training Methods:
Classroom based PowerPoint Presentation.
Practical demonstrations and applications using the forklift.
Supervised trainee assessment with corrective instruction.
Practical and theory competence test.

Additional Information:

Letter from employer required.
Forklift training should be updated every three years.

  • Operate a fork lift truck safely.
  • Safe operating habits.
  • Consequences of taking certain kinds of chances.
  • Load and unload safely.
  • Refuel/recharge fork lifts safely.
  • Handle awkward loads.
  • Safe operating practices.
  • Elementary driving.
  • Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when driving a fork lift truck.

Learning Outcomes
The Forklift Reach Training Course ensures candidates reach the skill level required to safely operate the forklift to RTITB standard.
The course syllabus meets the requirements of RTITB standard for forklift operators.
On completion of this training course, trainees will be able to operate a forklift counterbalance safely, reducing the risk of incidents or risk of injury to pedestrians and to the operator.

Forklift Operators Experienced Certificate/NORS/RTITB Accreditation.
