IOSH Managing Safely

4 Day Course

This course covers all the aspects of occupational safety and health. It is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to promote and maintain safety and health in their working environments.

This course will provide the learner with the modern approaches on how to include health and safety into management systems as well as how to manage and control common hazards and risk management.
Learners will gain in-depth knowledge of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and associated regulations.

Who Should Attend?

Employees in an organisation who have to manage risk and resources.
The course aim, is to provide the knowledge and skills required to manage resource and risk in compliance with an organisations policy and best practice in health and safety.

Training Methods:

Each delegate receives a workbook that includes sections for notes and Q&A sessions.
The course will be delivered in a classroom by presentation and discussions. Individuals quiz, team exercises, board game, flip chart and videos are used throughout the course.

No course pre-requisites.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course participants will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to:

  • Understand their responsibilities.
  • Have the practical ability to manage health and safety issues in the workplace.
  • Be able to implement risk assessment and control strategies.
  • Have an understanding of health, safety and environmental management systems and their business benefits.
  • Have a basic understanding of common hazards including; fire, electricity, working at height, stress, noise, vibration, chemicals and workplace transport.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the assessments (which is a multiple-choice exam completed on day 4, as well as a project on Risk Assessment) delegates will be awarded an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

Additional Information

 English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be given.
