You should not confuse experience with competence. You just have to Google ‘bobcat accidents’ to see how easily accidents occur with these machines.
These machines (like other machines) are built to very exacting safety standards so it is often not a fault of the machine that causes the accident but the fault of the operator. Like MEWPs, skid steer vehicles are relatively easy to operate and most people will figure them out pretty quickly, which makes them all the more dangerous.
Who Should Take This Course
Those employees who are responsible or in control of a Skid Steer.
Candidate Requirements:
Passport Photo.
Current Safe Pass.
Personal Protective Equipment.
Participants must at least 18 years of age.
Training Methods:
Classroom based PowerPoint Presentation.
Practical experience and assessment of operating a Skid Steer, under the supervision & direction of our highly experienced instructor.

Course Content:
- Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.
- Employers & Employees legal duties under current Health & Safety Legislation
- Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Quarries) Regulations.
- Pre-use inspection of equipment.
- Machine functions & controls.
- Site safety.
Learning Outcomes:
- Awareness of the current Health & Safety Legislation as it applies to safe operation of Skid Steer Loader.
- Ability to safely operate a Skid Steer Loader.
Assessment Type:
Theory and Practical.
Certification
ASL Safety & Training Certification will be awarded to those who successfully complete & pass this course.
